The Forprompt Studio teleprompter software, which was released by Fortinge a few years ago and is already used across dozens of countries, now supports NDI streaming output with its new release.
At the same time, the ERA-IP prompter monitor with NDI input has been released. This new duo, complements a teleprompter workflow over NDI infrastructure, simplying the broadcast infrastructure

Which features can I test in the demo version?
All core features can be freely tested in the demo version so you can evaluate the complete workflow before buying. Only a few advanced output features have minor restrictions.
Can I operate ForPrompt Studio entirely solo during a shoot?
Yes. Once your script and settings are loaded, the prompter runs completely autonomously. Presenters can use compact wireless controllers (handheld remotes, foot pedals, or wireless pens) to adjust scroll speed and jump between script sections live without needing an external operator.
Is my computer capable of running ForPrompt Studio?
ForPrompt Studio runs natively on 64-bit Windows platforms (Windows 8, 10, and 11). You can download and install our free demo version to test performance on your exact PC configuration and review the included System Requirements documentation.
Can I run the software offline without an active internet connection?
Yes. An internet connection is only needed during initial activation or license updates when using an Online License Key (Dongle licenses require zero internet). Once verified, the software operates completely offline. A local network is only required if you use network protocols like MOS, NDI, or remote multi-seat control.

Which languages and text scripts are supported?
ForPrompt Studio offers full Unicode compliance and supports all major computer character sets. It natively handles Latin, Cyrillic, East Asian, and Right-to-Left (RTL) scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew.
Does ForPrompt Studio support Rich Text formatting and file imports?
Yes. The built-in rich text editor allows customizable font faces, sizes, colors, highlights, and alignments. You can compose scripts directly or import external files in .docx, .pdf, .pptx, .rtf, .html, and .txt formats.
How do I transition between different stories or sections in a script?
You can segment scripts by adding headers to each section. Headers are instantly cataloged into the interactive Story List panel. Double-clicking any story jumps straight to it, and dedicated buttons on your remote controller allow instant section stepping during live reads.
Can scripts be modified while live on air?
Yes. ForPrompt Studio supports live script editing during active prompting. When Auto-Update is enabled, changes made in the editor sync immediately to the output screen without interrupting the speaker’s reading position.
How do I start and control the scrolling prompt?
Click the Start button in the editor to push text to the engine screen. You can start/pause with a mouse click and adjust scroll speed using the mouse wheel, keyboard shortcut hotkeys, or any compatible Fortinge remote controller.

Which hardware controllers are compatible with ForPrompt Studio?
The software offers plug-and-play compatibility with all Fortinge controllers, including wireless RF remotes, presenter pens, foot pedals, and USB/IP Jog & Shuttle units. It also natively supports third-party controllers such as Contour ShuttleXpress, ShuttlePRO v2, and Logitech wireless presenters.
Can I output to multiple prompter monitors simultaneously?
Yes. ForPrompt Studio supports multi-monitor setups with independent resolution controls and per-output horizontal/vertical flip and mirror settings.
Which video outputs and capture cards are supported?
The software outputs clean feeds up to 60 fps over HDMI, NDI (IP network), and professional SDI cards—including Blackmagic Design DeckLink boards and portable USB/Thunderbolt SDI devices for laptops.
Does ForPrompt Studio support NDI network streaming?

Is there Avid iNEWS FTP integration?
Yes. The software connects directly to Avid iNEWS via FTP to fetch rundowns, automatically updating stories in real time as newsroom lineups shift.
Where do I activate my license code or dongle?
For Online Licenses, click the key icon inside the Editor application, enter your license code, and submit your registration details. If you purchased a physical USB Dongle license, plug it into your computer—the software activates automatically with no extra steps.
How long is my license valid, and how often are updates released?
Your license is perpetual for the purchased version. New purchases include one full year of complimentary software updates and feature enhancements. Maintenance updates and performance improvements are released regularly throughout the year.
